Community Reinvestment Plan- WA STATE

The Department of Commerce, in partnership with the Office of Equity and community partners, is responsible for building a plan by July 2023 to describe how funds will be invested to address racial, economic, and social disparities in communities across the state created by the historical design and enforcement of state and federal criminal laws and penalties for drug possession. These dollars will be distributed by Commerce as $100 million in fiscal year 2024 and $100 million in fiscal year 2025.

Seattle Legends Youth Basketball

Based out of Seattle, Seattle Legends is a youth in focus basketball program. Through our program, our mission is to teach our youth the fundamentals of sportsmanship through mentorship and basketball.

Fresh Start is the most effective solution for reducing recidivism, unemployment, homelessness; empowering their participants to make sustainable personal changes that positively impact society.

The BIPOC Sustainable Tiny Art House Community (STAHC) is a community-born, Black-led project which establishes equity for low- to middle-income, working BIPOC artists of all disciplines through a sustainable and environmentally healthy Home & Business Ownership Model.

Forever Safe Spaces SPC. x Black Brilliance Research

Thanks to the defund the police movement in 2020 we were able to fiscally sponsor FSS SPC. The organization was able to continue their traditionally uncompensated cultural work as researchers in the Black Brilliance Research Project.

Jason Beverly x The Engage Team

Last year we participated in Microsoft Give Big and were able to raise $10k for cultural workers of ‘The Engage Team’. Although the org is no longer producing as a unit, Jason Beverly and his comrades were able to continue their individual efforts towards Black liberation.

Black is Beautiful: Femme

After conducting our protest survey we used the data to direct our action by hosting a teach in where voices of femme activists were highlighted on stage for hundreds of protesters.

In 2020 we sponsored two stages with live performances in partnership with Building Black Wealth Market LLC.

Black Action Coalition x Seattle Parks & Rec.

In 2020 we fiscally sponsored the Black Action Coalition in their November resource drive. The organization was funded by Seattle Parks & Recreation.
