From March 2007 to November 2008, Jesse Miller served as the Program Director for “Say No To Gangs & Guns and YES to the Arts” in Tacoma, WA. During her tenure, she developed and implemented a summer youth program aimed at inner-city, low-income youth. The program focused on teaching analytical and critical thinking skills while providing real-life work experience in the music and entertainment industry.

Jesse’s role encompassed a wide range of responsibilities. She wrote the grant proposals, secured funding, and obtained a facility for the program. Additionally, she supervised staff and contractors, and successfully secured community sponsorships to support the initiative. As the project director, Jesse was responsible for overseeing the entire program, from its inception to its execution. She also created a comprehensive Program Handbook and wrote a detailed final report documenting the program’s impact and outcomes.

Her efforts significantly benefited the participants, providing them with valuable skills and experiences that extended beyond traditional classroom settings.
