From March 2010 to January 2014, Jesse Miller was deeply involved in the Seattle Next Generation Giving Project (NGGP), a collaborative initiative between the Social Justice Fund and Resource Generation. The project aimed to mobilize young people with financial resources to drive social change by leveraging their wealth and privilege.
The 2010 NGGP proved to be highly successful, raising $135,000 and distributing it to 12 inspiring organizations across the region. Additionally, the project fostered a community of 18 engaged, educated donor activists who were committed to philanthropy and social justice. This initiative not only provided significant financial support to grassroots organizations but also contributed to a broader shift in how nonprofits and philanthropy approach grant funding, emphasizing community impact and engagement.
Jesse’s role in this pioneering project was instrumental in its success, helping to shape a more inclusive and impactful approach to philanthropy. Her efforts supported the development of a new generation of donor activists, while also influencing the practices and strategies of nonprofit funding in the region.
